SUMMARY OF POSITION:
This position will remain in constant contact with internal customers and external suppliers regarding status of orders, delivery dates, purchasing components using MRP, and any other questions or concerns.
The primary function of the position is to prepare a schedule and procure materials that will enable 100% on time deliveries.
JOB DUTIES &
Essential Functions:
Work with staff throughout the organization to develop a sense of urgency to meet customers delivery schedules.
Coordinate information and activities to ensure customers requirement dates are understood and reflected accurately in schedules.
Analyze order requests based on material availability, routing specifications, alternative routings, and demonstrated capacity.
Lead daily production meeting and provide a list prioritizes tasks such as setups, tool repairs, tool changeovers, and operator requirements.
Create work orders through the MRP system based on forecast and sales orders.
Schedule the orders in a sequence that considers tooling setups, changeovers, same materials, similar secondary equipment and alternate work centers.
Work with quality department and project engineers to resolve issues leading to parts with on hold status or corrective actions.
Schedule samplings as requested by project engineers and sales representatives.
Provide rapid solutions in a timely fashion.
Work to establish appropriate planning parameters, such as:
Lot sizes Minimum order quantities Lead times Re-order points Purchasing/Vendor notes Work with the Toolroom to ensure timely processing of tooling repairs and changeovers.
Act as a back-up to other Buyer/Planner/Schedulers.
Participate in all functions of physical inventory.
Prepare, review, and issue purchase orders and makes the necessary changes to existing orders to reflect actual product requirement needs.
Design, implement and monitor on a consecutive basis outcomes of cost savings programs related to continuous improvement in the purchasing department.
Ensure timely delivery by providing follow up measures and expedites vendor deliveries as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES):
High School and/or technical school graduate with a minimum of 5 years administrative experience, preferably in a materials related capacity.
Must work independently receiving a minimum of detailed supervision and guidance.
Must be dependable and have excellent attendance record.
Data entry experience.
ERP experience preferred.
Able to work in a fast-paced and at time stressed environment.
Knowledge of the materials purchased, programs, and procedures related to the work of the purchasing department.
Able to communicate with all levels of management.
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office products required i.
e.
, Outlook, Excel, Word.
Completes and performs other duties/tasks as may be assigned.
May acquire and monitor outside services contracted to meet the needs of the facility.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
